Good for What Ales You...

"You must not eat brown bread while you can get white, except you like the brown the best. You must not drink small beer while you can get strong, except you like the small the best. You must not kiss the maid while you can kiss the mistress, except you like the maid the best, but sooner than lose a good chance you may kiss them both."
—Passage from the Swearing on the Horns, a centuries-old initiation oath taken by the Freemen of Highgate in pubs throughout the eponymous suburb in London, England.

Know ye this day that the Third Annual Bootlegger's Bliss is tentatively scheduled for Satyrday, November 1, 2008.

That's right, the locally famous "greatest-mountain-biking-homebrew-tasting-event-of-the-first-weekend-in-November-in-the-mid-Atlantic-region-within-an-hour-of-DC-hosted-by-me-and-sponsored-by-no-one" is back again for more homegrown hijinx.

So make plans to join the growing thiasos in a pagan celebration of mountain biking, homebrewed beer, and homemade food. Whether you BIY (brew-it-yourself) or simply know an attendee who does, you're welcome to come on out and join in the fun and festivities. After the ride and tasting, we'll surely resurrect last year's trialsy stuntfest and record wheel-tacoing derby (payback is hell).

Details to follow soon. Time to get brewing...
Me, I'm working on a new BB logo. Gonna be sweet! And to think, I haven't had a beer in three days...what the hell is wrong with me?

Hey Mr. Man! Nice blog you've got here. So, I need to know where you get all teh great cartoon/illustrations. Do you do them or where do they come from. They're fantastic!

Stay well.

Thanks, man! I appreciate it. All artwork on the blog is my own creation, unless credited otherwise. Pen and ink stuff, scanned into Pshop and colored/cleaned up.

More here.

Much of it is developed for various rides, like the Bootlegger's Bliss and the SSO's Punk Bike Enduro.

I'm there and bringing hotsauce as sponsorship. Let me know when and how many people attend. Peace, niggah.

2D2S, you got it. Maybe this year's event should have a hot-sauce theme to complement the homebrew theme--i.e, the homemade dishes should be "hot-sauce compatible."
