In the mail, that is. A nice little check for $25 from MABN for my photo of DT and homebrew icon Charlie Papazian, which they used in their latest edition. That will just about cover the cost of the event where I took the pic. Ah, is there a better life than getting paid to drink?
Oh, and in bottles is a fine offering from the biking brothers at Troegs, proud sponsors of the DIRT RAG PBE. Joining a family that already includes two perennial hoppy ales, Nugget Nectar is described as an Imperial Amber Ale, but it could just as easily be called an IPA. And at 7.5% ABV, it's at the low end of the Imperial scale.
Offering up around 93 IBUs, the hops pull no punches, though the flavor is uncannily close to that of Clipper City's Loose Cannon IPA, minus the latter's strong citrus presence. Good stuff, but I have to give the edge in taste to Loose Cannon, which happens to come in at around two bucks less per six. Still, it is worth plunkin' down the coin to try; seasonal, so pick some up while it lasts.

Finishing up one of the Nectars now before heading out for the MORE Winter Party. Definitely nice.
