Dane to Commute by Bicycle...

(Originally posted on Bikecentric, but interesting enough to reproduce here.)

If you have about 20 minutes to spare, this video (link appears a little ways down the resulting page) is well worth your time.

We could learn a lot from the citizens of Copenhagen, who hold cycling in high regard and obviously don't feel it's beneath their dignity to travel by bike instead of by automobile (as evinced by the giant gilded statue of a cyclist featured in the opening sequences of the video—can you say cycleligious?). Of course, dignity begins to creep toward the window with self-destructive thoughts of defenestration as the price of gasoline crawls ever upward, so it's probably only a matter of time before we begin to see the light en masse. Bring it on, I say...

Link shamelessly pilfered from Cycler's Life via a link on Velorution.

POSTSCRIPT: Note how thin everyone appears to be in the video....coincidence? I think not. Then again, maybe Copenhagen is also sublime in its absence of fast food joints, which also might account for the dearth of McDerrières in the video.
