Take a Tab for Albert...

…that is, if you’re into that sort of thing. It’s the birthday* of centenarian, scientist, bicycle enthusiast, and accidental founder of lysergic acid diethylamide, Mr. Albert Hoffman.

From Wiki,

“While re-synthesizing LSD, he accidentally absorbed a small quantity through his fingertips and serendipitously discovered its powerful effects before his bicycle ride home.”

Apparently, to paraphrase another alleged taker of physiologically active substances, it really isn’t about the bike…

As Mr. Blum so delicately pointed out just now, it's actually the anniversary of the death of Mr. Hoffman. Ah, well, birth, death, whatever...it's all along the same continuum. My bad, nevertheless. A tip o' the bottle to you, Mr. Blum, for putting me right.

Look at that smile, truly inspirational. It is no wonder that he lived to be 102. Wow, thanks for the post.

Ha, no worries. Yeah, 102...better living through chemistry, perhaps?

I use to absolutely love doing acid. The last time I came across it though was different....I just couldn't allow myself to drink a case of beer along with it. And I kept thinking the whole next day was a wash. I don't bounce back from wearing my soul so thin anymore. fuck.
