...leave it at home.
Tomorrowthe first day of fallis Car-free Day in DC.
Seriously, it's one day...balls up a wee bit and leave that shit at home. The weather couldn't be better, Lady Nature will love you for itas will your lagging metabolismand who knows? You might just meet someone special out there on two wheels and experience a seedy assignation in the shifting shadows of a city park, as an early-autumn sunsole witness to your unseemly behaviorslowly sinks unseen behind rooftops in the dusky distance. One can hope, right?
One thing's for sure, it ain't gonna happen with your ass planted firmly in a car seat, encased in glass like a piece of ancient pottery or a pinned specimen.
Now there's something to think about, yes?
Do something different. Be revolutionary. Be free.
Ride your bike.

Wish I'd have heard about this earlier. I'd have blown the dust off the geared roadie and biked in. Ah well, I'll do it one day later this week.
For the record, the car commute to the office was the worst it's been in a year or more. Traffic backed up where there typically isn't any.
Does the first picture mean a certain beauty is back in action???
How's the shoulder healing up?
---d
DB, naw, not yet; have to find the time to reconstruct it. Been diggin' the Casseroll more each day, but I have to admit it looks silly with the pannier rack on it.
Plus, I've been lazy of late.
Shoulder is hard to say; worked out once and it was fine, then next time it ached. Certain positions let me know it. Still have the clavicle knot, and I've heard that doesn't go away. No dirt trial yet, but that's a matter of bad circumstances this weekend.
Thinking about a trip to Mass. next weekend to see my boy DT, hit Night of the Funk (Belgian beer fest), and hit some trails there.
How was the mtb dirt fest last weekend?
Hi! I think I met you on the trail yesterday during car-free day! I was the wobbly-footed rider who needed new cleats. :) I googled homebrew mountain bike ride and found this page, so I hope I got to the right guy.
Thanks for your help yesterday; I'm currently trying to develop a taste for beer, so you might be able to help me with that endeavor too. :)
Hey, Alma. Yep, that was indeed me. Nice to hear from you (and good to know that Google is working fine, ha).
If you'd like to join the ride, don't worry about the beer part; you can be my guest. Shoot me an email at wrenchinthegears AT gmail DOT com or keep on eye on this blog for more details.
I trust your knee held together long enough to get you home?
I hadn't heard about car-free day but I am lucky enough that every day is car-free day. Can I get an AMEN!
Digging your blog, lets trade links.
Yeah, CJ, me too. Been bike commuting for 2.5 years; haven't missed a day that I worked. Thanks for the opportunity to brag, ha.
Done and done on the link deal.
